Caledonia Scottish Pub
Owned and managed by Highland Scotsman Michael Caledonia
1609 2nd Avenue Between 83rd and 84th Street / (212)-879-0402
Adults 21 and over can visit Caledonia Scottish Pub for a fairly priced pint of Bell-haven and review the menu of authentic Scotch. The wide variety are separated by region along the whole wall behind the mirrored bar. Wood paneled with dark stain and varnish, this leathery Upper East Side Scottish Pub deserves only the best drinkers. On a normal night the Manhattan Scotch affectionato crowd emerges. Generally well heeled young successful professionals frequent the establishment, which may explain the high number of ladies looking for eligible companionship. The music is usually just the right touch of Classic Psychedelic Rock and U.K. Classics and blends well with the international crowd. The back has overstuffed tan leather couches, perfect for relaxing after a long day on the hamster wheel. The front has a bay window and separate bench, perfect for drinking while watching pedestrians on Second Avenue. Enjoy your stiff drink while watching the walking world wishing they had found a snug spot to relax with their friends.
